Level 1 NDIS Support Connection

Empowering Your First Steps Towards Confidence and Clarity
What Is NDIS Support Connection?
Support Connection is the first of three levels of NDIS support coordination. It is a short-term service focused on building your ability to understand, navigate, and engage with your NDIS plan and funded supports. While it doesn’t involve long-term case management or crisis response, it equips you with the tools and confidence needed to manage your plan independently.

Who Is It For?
Level 1 Support Connection is ideal for NDIS participants who:
Start Your NDIS Journey with Confidence
Ready to get started with your NDIS plan? Let Aus Care Community Services help you take that first step with confidence. Our Support Connection team is here to listen, guide, and empower you.
Common Areas We Assist With
Our Level 1 Support Connection service often includes assistance with:
- Locating NDIS housing support options: We help you identify supported accommodation or independent living arrangements that match your needs and budget.
- Accessing community reintegration programs: We connect you with programs that help build social skills, support mental wellbeing, and promote independence in community settings.
- Connecting with NDIS allied health professionals: We assist in finding and scheduling appointments with occupational therapists, speech pathologists, and physiotherapists.
- Planning transitions from school to adult services: We help young participants and their families prepare for post-school pathways by coordinating relevant supports and educational resources.
- Understanding how to use your NDIS funding for respite care: We explain how short-term and overnight respite can be used to support both the participant and their carers.
- Clarifying the difference between core, capital, and capacity-building supports: We help you understand each funding category and which services fall under each type.
- Assisting with basic service agreements and bookings: We provide support with completing service agreements, understanding your rights, and booking services that fit your plan.
- Preparing for your next NDIS plan review: We assist in documenting outcomes, identifying any gaps in support, and making sure you’re ready to request the right level of future funding.
Building Skills for the Future
Level 1 Support Connection isn’t just about short-term help. It’s about setting you up for long-term success. We focus on developing your ability to:
- Understand your rights and responsibilities as an NDIS participant: Learn how to advocate for yourself, uphold your rights, and recognise your entitlements under the NDIS.
- Communicate effectively with providers: Gain skills in negotiation, booking services, and resolving issues if things aren’t working well.
- Recognise when you need help and how to access it: Identify early signs when something isn’t right and learn how to reach out for additional support.
- Advocate for yourself within the system: We help you build the confidence to speak up and ask for what you need in plan meetings or service discussions.
- Make informed decisions that align with your goals: We support you in decision-making that reflects your values, aspirations, and day-to-day life priorities.
We believe that by empowering you from the start, you can take ownership of your journey and achieve better long-term outcomes.
What Happens After Level 1?
If you find that you need more ongoing assistance, Aus Care CS can continue supporting you through:
- Level 2 Coordination of Supports: for participants with more complex service arrangements who need consistent support across multiple services.
- Level 3 Specialist Support Coordination: for participants with high-level risks, challenging life circumstances, or intensive support needs.
We’ll work with you to determine the most suitable path based on your evolving needs.
Our Approach to Support Connection
At Aus Care Community Services, we don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Our support coordinators take the time to understand your unique situation, goals, and challenges.
Here’s how we help:
1. Explaining Your NDIS Plan
We start by reviewing your NDIS support plan with you in clear, everyday language. We’ll explain your goals, funded categories, and what your budget can be used for. This helps eliminate confusion and empowers you to make informed choices from the beginning.
2. Identifying Suitable Supports
We help you explore a wide range of options including NDIS personal care, NDIS home services, social groups, transport supports, and community programs. We take into account your preferences, cultural background, and daily living needs to recommend appropriate services.
3. Finding and Connecting With NDIS Providers
Our team has a strong network of trusted NDIS providers across New South Wales. We assist with researching, contacting, and booking the services you require, and ensure that they are aligned with your plan goals and values.
4. Understanding the NDIS Price Guide
We’ll guide you through the NDIS price guide, helping you understand how services are charged, what to expect from your funding, and how to compare costs across providers. This ensures you make the most of your NDIS funding.
5. Supporting Your Independence
Ultimately, Level 1 Support Connection is about helping you gain the skills and knowledge needed to manage your supports independently. We help you build routines, set reminders, and feel confident communicating with providers, preparing you for long-term self-management.
